Changing dentists is not an east process and I delayed doing so for a fatal 12 months at least. My previous dentist had gone away suddenly and in my mind would be a hard act to follow.

Every morning I awoke and knew my teeth were in need of attention, every day to put off taking the plunge.

I had heard good things about Jiva and the name Jiva inspired me. (the name of a record label owned by George Harrison).

So I plucked up courage in the certain knowledge that there would be work to do. Booked a free consultation and the truth was revealed.

Doctor Bob has a good couch side nature, he is a good communicator. I would need a lot of work. Every filling I had was leaking and there would be crown work, root canals and extractions.

I would also need to take better care of my teeth and my treatment began.

That was September 2012; my first fillings were in the 50’s and 60’s! With those fillings there was an embedded fear and dread of drills and infections jangling my nerves. I don’t know how I could face it all over again however; Doctor Bob was reassuring and caring.

I gained confidence right from the start: was able to relax and breathe through the work. Two root canals, 2 wisdom teeth extractions, lots of prep work and eight crowns (maybe a few surprises along the way.)

The combination of Doctor Bob and Jessica created an environment of healing, the healing of my fears and traumas that had been with me since childhood. I have no hesitation in making a recommendation. Just ask Stella and she will tell you I‘ve been coming from September to May and am now complete.

Over the last few months I have received a carefully, considerately and well devised treatment plan from Dentist Bob Bhambra and his dental nurses Stella and Nicola. They take the time to explain exactly what they’re doing at each stage no matter how challenging the mission.

The environment is tailored as best it can be to the patient’s needs and wants without compromising the treatment. The ambience is as you would like it to be.

I have been treated by various dentists over the years as well as restorative ones in hospitals. No other dentist or orthodontist has met and exceeded my expectations like Bob has and no practice has been more hospitable.

Like many people I was a bit wary of changing to a new dental practice but my experience at Jiva has been wholly positive. Everyone who works here is friendly and puts you at ease immediately. Bob is a great communicator and explains each step of the process clearly and calmly and he also has the latest equipment such as digital x-rays so that it is easy to see what is wrong and go over the treatment plan with him.

I’ve always been very nervous about visiting the dentist but for every single visit I made to Jiva I’ve become more and more relaxed.

I have been going to Jiva Dental for about a year now and the treatment has always been excellent. I am always greeted with a smile and everyone is very professional. Recently I have had 4 front teeth veneers – the procedure was very smooth and the end result is perfect and very natural. Well worth it.

I am the world’s most nervous dental patient and my teeth had suffered serious neglect. I was handed a leaflet outside Surbiton station describing Jiva Dental Practice and decided to give it a whirl. It is with pleasure that I write this testimonial as prior to my Zoom whitening treatment I was very apprehensive as to how sensitive the procedure might be. I need not have worried; the whole procedure was totally free of any sensitivity or pain. I was kept informed throughout as to what was or might be happening, and the environment was calming with gentle music playing. I have already recommended the Zoom treatment and Jiva Dental to friends, family and colleagues.

Whilst not being a nervous patient as such, I had neglected my teeth for a long time and having not seen the dentist for many years. I decided to go for an initial consultation and was so happy when the staff were very welcoming and I immediately relaxed.

3 months on and after a lot of work I can safely say that I was delighted with the overall quality and friendliness of Bob and his colleagues. Getting to choose which music you want on whilst having a root canal really does make a wonderful difference to the whole dental experience. After an embarrassing and upsetting accident, I was lucky enough to stumble upon Jiva Dental while getting off the bus. From initial appointment through to completion of treatment this was a very good experience. The reception provides a haven of calm from the bustle of Kingston. Clients are made to feel at home and Bob was very keen to make sure that all treatments were discussed in detail and I have to say that the results were extremely good. I was nervous about having dental implants but Dr Seddon and his team made it very positive from start to finish.

I have been impressed with the service I've received from the whole Jiva Dental team during the last 6 months. I've had significant amount of work done and found the care to be excellent. I have been put at ease since day one and have been fully consulted during the treatment plan. The care and treatment given by my dentist Bob is excellent. His support team is also second to none. Whilst the cost is not perhaps the lowest, the quality of the treatment and care means that I will continue to be a Jiva patient for as long as I can.

Calm, fresh environment, a nice place to come to. Staff were friendly and professional, felt reassured from the start. Work done was pain free, results from 1st session. Advice given made sense, good to get advice with my own toothbrush!

Plan was good - a previous dentist's plan included any work that needed doing once the initial fixes were done, with the exception of any lab work that needed to be done. Maybe something you could think about as an extension of your existing plan.

Thank you so much for my course of treatment which has involved some very complex work over the past few months. The time and trouble you took to get my crowns fitting perfectly was exemplary.

My mouth was a miss mash of NHS work and sadly we can no longer rely on the NHS for good, long lasting measures. Now, I am much happier smiling at people as my teeth are matched and a lot whiter. The whole treatment from start to finish was first class. Beginning with the consultation, every stage was fully explained in terms I understood. Everybody is really friendly and helpful in the practice. The hours are flexible with plenty of appointments made that suited my schedule. As pleasant an experience as two large fillings can be! Very friendly, lots of explanation of what's going on and a pleasant ambiance.

After not visiting a dentist for about two years I was passing Jiva Dental and decided to drop in. The practice is well designed, with digital photography so I could see my teeth, rather than trying to figure out an x-ray. The staff are friendly, courteous and Bob takes time to explain things and answer questions. Having a carbon neutral practice and drinks of tea or coffee are also great. A much better experience! I had previously only been told about the problems with my gums but never really told how to address the issue. So now everything is well on the way to being fixed, I am much happier with my teeth.

Jiva has a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere while at the same time giving a feeling of professionalism and attention to detail. Entering Dr Bob Bhamra`s practice is like entering a dental oasis of calm. From the moment you step through the doors, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Kingston town centre, you know immediately that Jivadental is different.

I know I was in the hands of a professional, but that`s a given. What I also realised is that Dr. Bhamra really cares for your well being. He made visiting his practice a pleasure and something to look forward to (how many people can say that about their dentist?).

I was looking for a dentist in Kingston and the reviews for Jivadental were impressive enough to convince me to make an appointment. I am now posting this review as my personal confirmation of all the other reviews/recommendations on this website.

Bob is a very professional and caring dentist and is quite simply kindness personified. My husband and I both required extensive dental treatment and we were both delighted with the result. Amazingly, even during my root canal treatment I was able to just totally relax and enjoy the music in the background because I trusted Bob implicitly. My experience at the practice was as close as I could get to a spa treatment at a dentist!

Jivadental has a modern relaxing decor and that coupled with the wonderful kind reception we always receive from Stella on arrival makes our dentist appointments like no other we have experienced. I can only add that every medical practice should have customer/patient facing personnel like Stella. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

Just over a couple of years ago I’d had about 6 abscesses over a period of months which ruined 2 holidays, even though I had seen my previous dentist of 15 years, on average once a week since the first abscess appeared. This dentist who had always given me the all clear and I thought was cleaning my teeth at regular 6 monthly checkups, was reticent about sending me for a root filling to a specialist even though my GP wouldn’t give me any more antibiotics. I insisted on going, however. Meanwhile my hairdresser recommended Bob Bhamra who she met at an ecofair. The root filling, although excellent, didn’t work due to gum disease, so I asked Bob to extract the two upper teeth from that area of bone erosion as I would almost certainly would have lost them fairly soon after anyway.

Bob referred me to a periodontist in Wimpole Street as I had rampant gum disease and did a major clean of scale and plaque, involving anaesthetic and needing 4 separate appointments. Bob also introduced me to Ian Seddon for bone reconstruction in the area where the two teeth had been extracted with a view to implants in their place.

A bridge comprising 3 teeth held on by 3 abutments on the other upper side of my mouth, which had resulted from a road accident nearly 50 years ago also needed urgent replacement which couldn’t be undertaken until I had my 2 implants in place on the other side of mouth. Miraculously, where 3 teeth were missing the bone which had resorted after all those years seems to have grown back enough to support implants and although the abutment teeth were in an awful state of disrepair Bob has managed to save them for the time being and put on 3 crowns. Another crown which Bob had put on watch done by my previous dentist deteriorated and was replaced, and whilst all this was going on the periodontist has been trying to save my lower canine tooth which was adjacent to another pocket of bone erosion caused by gum disease, by growing some bone around it and thinning the gum, and will report on his findings in July.

Although the jury is still out on most of this work (9 crowns, 5 implants and a lot of bone reconstruction in 3 different areas of my mouth) my teeth and gums feel better than they have done for almost 50 years, thanks to Bob and the staff at Jiva dental.

From my first visit Jiva Dental, I knew I was entering a different kind of dental experience. Different in the respect that you are immediately treated as an individual, and not just another patient from a long list of clients. Stella (on Reception) was so welcoming and ensured I was put at ease. The surroundings of the practice are calming, and there’s not that “dental” aroma you’re usually met with in other practices.

I’d suffered – or rather put up with – slightly crooked teeth, with one front one discoloured, so knew that veneers would be my would be my chosen option. However, upon meeting Dr Bob, he spent a great deal of time in getting to know my lifestyle, and going through the various options that were open to me to achieve my desired smile. Upon reaching the decision of veneers, I was given time to “mull” over the details of treatment, and at any given time, was never pressured into making decisions. (I even received an e-mail replying to questions I had over a weekend – now that’s service)! From start to finish, every step of my treatment was explained in detail, and at each visit I felt I was the only person important to Jiva at that given time. There were no “rushed” appointments, or long waiting times, and staff were consistently welcoming. In fact, I became quite at home at Jiva, and given that I was probably one of the most nervous dental patients they’d seen for a while, that is a huge achievement for me!

I am so happy with the end result, and although it sounds corny my new smile really has changed my life and now I feel more confident and am always smiling. The down side – only one, I now spend too much money on buying new lipsticks to really show off my pearlies!!

I have already recommended Jiva to some friends, and I have absolutely no hesitation in spreading the word and even if you are thinking of cosmetic dentistry, go to Jiva as you will be given all options and given the best advice you can receive without any pressure. Plus, if Dr Bob and his staff can cure me from my dental-phobe, then you’re certainly in good hands!

As a foot note, my 2 children now come to Jiva, and are both so comfortable with the practice (they are 3 and 7 years old). In fact the “genius” Dr Bob even helped my 7 year old stop sucking her thumb in one day!!

First of all I cannot believe I’m writing good things about a dentist.

My story starts a very long time ago when I was 7 years old. I had a car accident and my brand new second teeth were so badly damaged that eventually they had to be remove and I wore badly fitting dentures from the age of 9 years old.

Since then I have had many dentists, many tears and much pain physical and emotional.

At social gatherings I never felt confident and would hide my mouth when I smiled or laughed. I would look in magazines and always home in on the beautiful smiles and I could have a smile to be proud of. I never believed it possible, thought I was too old and had left it too long. Then I found Jiva Dental.

Not only has Jiva transformed my smile but it was all done without tears or pain and I feel fabulous. The Jiva team are friendly and professional and I actually looked forward to seeing them.

At each stage of my treatment (Bob had a lot of work to do as I had stopped visiting the dentist 8 years ago through fear and disappointments) Bob would explain what he was doing, why, and what to expect at the end of it.
